Last week, with my interest and curiosity piqued by the Pull Ahead program and the new 530 series, I went into BMW of Greenwich. And am so glad that I did!. I know BMWs are pretty complicated with a ton of electro-mechanical systems but they may be getting too complicated to service. In November 2014, the trunk lid release system failed. They promptly ordered the part but when they repaired the release in December, they didn't repair the soft close. Took 4 weeks to get another appointment so everything was taken care of by the end of January 2015.
