The BMW i4 price starts at $55,400 MSRP, but it will also be offered in a more expensive trim that starts at $65,900 MSRP. While there are significant differences in performance between these two trim levels, both i4 configurations are less expensive than the entry-level BMW iX model.
The BMW iX price starts at $83,200 MSRP. There have been rumors of a second, more powerful configuration being offered, but there is no information available on pricing at this time.
BMW iX vs. i4: Performance
The BMW iX model’s higher starting price is largely due to the more powerful performance capabilities of the baseline model. However, if you opt for the i4 M50, you enjoy even more get-up-and-go. Compare the BMW iX vs. i4 performance specs below:
- iX Performance: The iX includes two electric motors and standard all-wheel drive and sprints from 0 to 60 in 4.6 seconds with 516 hp and 564 lb-ft of torque.
- I4 Performance: The baseline i4 eDrive40 delivers 335 hp, 317 lb-ft of torque, and a 0–60 time of 5.5 seconds. The more powerful i4 M50 generates 536 hp and 586 lb-ft of torque and races from 0 to 60 in as little as 3.7 seconds.
If you want the maximum speed and power, the i4 M50 may be the BMW EV for you. That being said, the iX offers a balance of robust power and superior range that may be preferable for some White Plains drivers.
BMW iX vs. i4: Range
The range is a factor that anyone interested in an EV will want to know, and as you’ll see, both the BMW iX and i4 are equipped with battery packs that offer an impressive driving range:
- BMW iX xDrive50 SAV®: Offers roughly 300 miles of range on a full charge
- BMW i4 xDrive40: Also offers a range of 300 miles
