Serving Greenwich, CT
In your search for an electrified luxury crossover SUV, your attention may naturally land on the BMW X5 plug-in hybrid and the BMW iX. These inspired vehicles produce the full BMW driving experience and are packed with luxuries. However, they are brilliantly individualized as well. What are the differences between the BMW X5 xDrive50e and the BMW iX?
Performance
The 2025 BMW X5 xDrive50e has a V6, a turbo 3.0-liter gas engine, and an electric motor propelled by a rechargeable battery. This is an all-wheel drive setup that generates 483 horsepower. The all-electric driving range is 40 miles. The 2025 BMW iX is an all-electric model with a maximum 307-mile range. If you choose the M Performance trim level, your iX will reach 60 miles per hour from a standstill in only 3.5 seconds.
Appearance
You can easily tell these luxury SUVs apart on the road. The X5 xDrive50e has a tall, flowing profile with standout side contouring. The sides are also designed with an air inlet near the front fender and dark molding. The front end is designed with slender LED headlights and chrome accents across the grille and bumper. The iX, on the other hand, has smoother sides with a hint of accentuation and molded rear haunches. The hood and roof have a sporty taper. A tall, kidney-shaped grille distinguishes the nose. Slit-like LED headlights and large, triangular air inlets flank it.
Features
The X5 xDrive50e is available with a hands-free liftgate, a parking assistant, heated and leather seats, massaging front seats, a four-zone climate control system, a push-button ignition, Digital Premium tech, a back-up camera, and others. The iX has some of these features, such as Digital Key Plus, Highway Assist Plus, Android Auto connectivity on the central display screen and digital gauge panel, a Bowers & Wilkins sound system, and several additional features.
